  • Threat of Physical Harm

    A post threatening another member or person with physical harm

  • Proof of Underaged User

    Xanga has a strict policy that all members must be at least 13 years
    old.  If a parent or legal guardian discovers that their underaged
    child has lied about their age to join Xanga, the proper recourse is to
    talk to your child and have them shut down the Xanga site.  If
    necessary, parents or legal guardians can initiate a parental deletion request process.

    In all other cases, if you learn from a user’s blog that they are under the age of 13, flag it.

  • Too Much Personal Info

    A site in which too much Personally Identifiable Information (PII) has
    been posted without the permission of the person identified, including
    the following PII:

    • Full Name
    • Physical address
    • Email address
    • Phone Number
    • National Identification Numbers (e.g. Social Security Numbers, HKID, National Insurance Number, etc.)

  • Breaking the Law

    Using a site to break or attempt to break the law (or give instructions on how to do so).

    Examples of prohibited sites include:

    • Posting instructions on how to break the law (e.g. how to make a bomb, how to grow/make illegal drugs, etc.)
    • Attempting to buy or sell illegal goods online (e.g. buying/selling drugs, solicitation of prostitution, etc.).
    • Incitement to break the law

  • Advocating Self Harm

    A site advocating, encouraging or glorifying self-destructive behavior (such as anorexia or cutting).

    Examples of prohibited sites include:

    • Proana lifestyle sites
    • Posting instructions on how best to perform (or hide) self-destructive behaviours
    • Inciting self destructive behaviour (e.g. “challenges”, “thinspiration”, etc.)

  • Hatred Site

    A site dedicated solely to harassing or stalking a person, or group of people, or attacking ethnic, religious or other groups.

  • Underaged Nudity

    A site that posts adult content featuring minors (people under the age of 18)

  • Adult Content

    A site that posts adult content in public posts, default profile pics or About Me information..

    Adult content is permitted in protected posts, provided no minors are on the protected list.  Distributing adult content to minors anywhere on Xanga is expressly prohibited.

  • Spam

    A site that is used to send unsolicited promotional messages.  Also, the use of automated comment bots

  • Scam

    A site that attempts to scam Xanga users, including phishing and pyramid schemes.
